Radio killed the video star
Today for my dads 50th he got a digital radio. Now I have had three so far, one that I connected to my PC and died a death and two Evoke-1s. One exploded in a very rock and roll fashion one morning. Why Andy do you keep buying these things if they keep dying on you I hear you ask? Well to put it simply BBC 6 music. Before I came in to contact with this radio station I had to either listen to Signal 1, possibly one of the worst local radio stations in the country (if not the world) which plays coldseal adverts and the occasional 80s hit by vanilla ice. Then there was BBC Radio 1, with its mixture of vocal bile and mind numbing pop I quickly realised I should fear the radio, hence why it made a good alarm clock in the morning. Other than that my only reach into music was perhaps Sky’s music television channels, but although they try to make programs, they tend lightweight and American. Problematic when you want to here intelligent discussion and new music. I began listening to 6music in my first year at university, mainly as a technological experiment bit of a geeky thing I know. However when I first actually listened to the radio channel it showed me that the radio doesn’t have to be full of adverts, Robbie Williams and Britney Spears. The BBC had basically given music listeners a station to listen to, rather than station to bore us with its dull naffness. Thank you BBC. Oh and on a side note, Jane Gazzo at night has possibly one of the nicest voices in the world. mm Jane Gazzos voice, I think I want her to announce the apocalypse in that soft Australian accent, it would be less of a shock.

Nah I couldn’t. The second Evoke-1 I had was a replacement for the one that blew up. Plus they are cooler than half life 2.

If you love Jane as much as I do - you should email the powers that be for replacing her on 6 Music with a radio 1 reject.
I miss my nights with Jane. Her voice, choice of tunes, and gerneral warmth are very much missing from my sad life.
